How it works

How a report moves through a net.

Each report moves New → Working → Completed. The board shows status and who is handling the work as the net develops.

New

Net Control or another team member enters the report. It shows on the shared board, ready for an operator to take.

Working

One operator becomes the assignee, validates information, and adds notes. Other operators can see who has the report and read its current details.

Completed

The assignee finishes without sending, sends to configured email, Slack, or Discord destinations, or notes an outside partner submission. The record becomes read-only and keeps each destination result.

A typical event

A Weather Net from start to finish.

Open the Weather Net

A Net Manager or Net Control opens the net for an exercise or an operational event.

Capture incoming traffic

Net Control enters field reports as they arrive over the radio, using the organization’s configured report questions.

Put the report on the board

New reports appear on the board for all operators. The New column shows which reports still need an assignee.

Take the report

An operator takes a report. Everyone can see the assignee, and other operators can open the report read-only.

Validate and document

The assignee verifies details, adds timestamped notes, and prepares the report to finish.

Finish or send

Finish without sending, send to configured email recipients, Slack, or Discord destinations, or note an outside partner submission. Each destination result stays with the report.

Close the net

When operations conclude, a Net Manager or Net Control closes the net while preserving its reports.

Review and export

Leadership downloads a net report package with an executive brief plus communications and activity logs for partner reporting.
