Privacy notice

This notice explains how WXNetMan handles information when you visit this website, request access, or use the invite-only WXNetMan application. An organization using WXNetMan may have additional policies governing the operational information its members enter.

Information we collect

Marketing website

The public website does not offer user accounts or a public sign-up form. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, organization, and operational needs.

WXNetMan application

For invited users, the application may process:

• Account information, including email address and sign-in credentials
• Organization membership, display name, role, and organization settings
• Weather Net operational information, including report entry answers, timestamps, assignments, notes, and delivery results
• Technical and security information needed to authenticate users, maintain service reliability, investigate errors, and audit administrative or corrective actions
• Client-side error diagnostics when the application encounters an unexpected failure in the browser (for example an exception message and stack trace), used to diagnose and fix defects

How we use information

We use information to:

• Respond to access requests and support inquiries
• Provide and secure the WXNetMan service
• Maintain organization membership and role-based access
• Process, display, route, and preserve authorized operational reports
• Monitor reliability, troubleshoot issues, and prevent misuse

Information sharing and delivery destinations

We do not sell personal information. WXNetMan uses service providers to host and operate the application, including Amazon Web Services for infrastructure and Sentry for optional browser error reporting. When error reporting is enabled, the application may send technical exception details to Sentry so we can investigate client failures. We configure reporting not to send default personal identifiers, and we scrub authentication headers, cookies, and similar secrets before an event leaves the browser. Report entry bodies and sign-in tokens are not intended to be included. Information held by Sentry is also subject to Sentry’s own policies.

When an authorized operator completes a report, the operator may choose delivery destinations configured by their organization, such as email recipients, Slack, or Discord. Information sent to those destinations is also subject to the recipient organization’s and platform provider’s policies.

Organization separation and access

WXNetMan organizations are separate operational tenants. Access is invite-only and controlled through organization membership and assigned roles. A person who belongs to multiple organizations uses one account but has organization-specific memberships, names, and roles.

Retention

We retain information as needed to provide the service, maintain security and operational records, and meet agreed organizational needs. Retention requirements may vary by organization. Organization leaders can export closed-net records and may contact us about account or organization data.

Security

WXNetMan uses authenticated access, role-based permissions, and organization-scoped data handling. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we use technical and operational controls to protect the information entrusted to the platform.

Your choices

You may choose what information to provide in an access request. An invited user can update certain account or organization-profile information in the application. For access, correction, export, or deletion questions, contact your Net Manager or email us.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the service develops. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version.
